Travel baseball is competitive, but competition does not replace the fundamentals that allow a player to keep improving.
Good habits are built through repetition
Throwing mechanics, receiving, footwork, hitting approach, base running and situational awareness are skills that continue to matter as players get older.
Development is not always visible in a box score
A player can improve without having the biggest batting average or the most strikeouts. Better decisions, confidence, communication and consistency are important forms of progress.
Build skills that travel with the player
The most useful fundamentals are the ones a player can carry from one team, coach and age level to the next. A strong foundation gives later instruction something to build on.
A community goal
Red Rage’s mission connects team competition with player development and a long-term interest in baseball.
